The Chewelah Cougars boys basketball team will host their first home game this year, matching up against a high-powered 2-0 Colfax squad.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 61-39 NE 2B league win over Colfax on Tuesday and a 67-34 victory over Reardan last Saturday.

Chewelah, meanwhile dropped their season opener to state power St. George's 59-41. The Cougars saw two standout performances from Lukas Kubik (15 points) and Nick Franks (14 points) but one player for the Dragons had a big game against the Cougar defense, college-bound Nick Watkins, who notched 21 points.

Heading into this Friday matchup, Chewelah will look to limit Seth Lustig, who notched 18 points against Kettle Falls, while John Lustig notched 14 points. Both teams could each have dual threats on offense.

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Pein-Lynch Gym after the girl's varsity basketball game.
