The young Chewelah girls basketball team will be facing off against Davenport tonight at 6 p.m. in Pein-Lynch Gym. With a roster of plenty of freshman and even eighth grades, the Lady Cougs will hope their youth movement will be able to stymie a Lady Gorillas squad that has a 3-0 record.

Davenport has downed Northwest Christian 52-40, Reardan 49-17 and Kettle Falls 42-19.

Chewelah freshman duo of Brooke Bennett and Kaylin Slaughter have done the scoring for the Cougs, posting double-digit performances during Tuesday's loss to Lind-Ritzville Sprague.

The Lady Cougs are looking for their first win of the year having dropped contests to St. George's, Colfax and LRS. They are coming off a season-high 37 points against LRS, however.

Bennett led all scorers with 14 points last Tuesday, while Slaughter had ten points. Against Colfax, Bennett scored 15 points.

Gametime is at 6 p.m. in Chewelah.
