The Chewelah Cougars girls basketball team got 14 points from freshman Brooke Bennett but fell to Lind-Ritzville Sprague 58-37 in NE 2B girls basketball action on Saturday.
Bennett led all scorers in the game and followed up a 15-point performance she had against Colfax earlier in the week.
Chewelah fell to 0-3 on the year, while LRS improved their record to 3-1. The Lady Broncos led 27-14 at halftime and continued to add to their lead in the second half despite more consistent play by the Lady Cougars.
Also scoring in double digits was freshman Kaylin Slaighter, who notched 10 points.
Chewelah will host Davenport on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Pein Lynch Gym.
