Chewelah's Nick Franks went off for 26 points but it wasn't enough in a 70-44 loss to undefeated Lind-Ritzville/Sprague on Saturday in NE 2B boys basketball action. The Cougars dropped their second road game of the year to fall to 1-2 on the year.
LRS sprinted out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter and extended that 36-19 halftime advantage. The Cougars did play closer in the second half but LRS improved their season record to 4-0 on the year.
Chewelah was coming off a 77-point performance against Colfax but scored in double digits in just the fourth quarter. Franks has scored 14, 11 and now 26 points. Lukas Kubik added eight points in the effort.
Chewelah will host undefeated Davenport tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
